1. 基数词：

- 表示数量大小，具有数值意义；

- 用来计数，强调数量，如：one, two, three, four, ……

- 可以直接在名词前面作定语，如：two books, three cars, four students……

2. 序数词：

- 表示顺序，具有顺序意义；

- 用来表达顺序，如：first, second, third, fourth, ……

- 可以直接在名词前面作定语，如：the first day, the second floor, the third grade……

3. 分数：

- 表示一个数量被分成若干份的一部分，如：1/2, 1/3, 2/5, ……

- 常用的分数词有：1/2 → half；1/3 → third；1/4 → quarter；1/5 → fifth……

4. 百分数：

- 表示一个数量的百分之几，如：25%, 50%, 75%, ……

- 百分数可以与分数等价转换，如：25% → 1/4

5. 增量词：

- 表示一次增加或减少的数量，如：once, twice, three times, four times, ……

- 用来表达单位时间或空间内的数量，如：twice a week, three times a day, four times as much……

6. 数量词：

- 表示数量不确定或不可数的词汇，如：some, any, many, much, few, little, several, a lot of, plenty of, ……

- 用来表示数量，但并不具体化，如：There were some people in the room.
